DISHA
Disha
is an early intervention scheme for children in the age group of 0-10 years
with the four disabilities (Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities, Autism and Cerebral Palsy) covered under the National Trust Act. Disha aims at
providing training (specifically school readiness) and counselling to both
children and parents.
SAMUHA runs a Disha centre to provide day-care and school-readiness to 20 children in the 0-10 age
group with the above disabilities.
The
Centre conducts parents meeting every month to orient them on childcare and
growth. It creates community awareness programs about DISHA for all
stakeholders including RBSK team members, ANMs, ASHA workers, ICDS teachers, School teachers
and NGO staff.
